Capturing all the fun of the five-day event – minus the Portaloos – our long weekend of great food and even better music was the antidote to Glasto FOMO

For most, music festivals are synonymous with mud, baby wipe baths and endless toilet queues. At Babington House, that wasn’t the case, with our celebrations of this weekend’s Glastonbury Festival proving the experience doesn’t have to mean forfeiting everyday luxuries such as fresh bedding, hot showers, and proper loos.

Just 30 minutes away from the Glastonbury site, across the sun-drenched weekend Babington House became a hub for festivalgoers and music lovers alike. For members not heading down to Worthy Farm, Babington offered an unmissable atmosphere. Large screens aired musical highlights from across the weekend, while feasting options came via a spacious dining tent, a barbecue on the lawn and two bars stocked with Rock Angel, No.3 Gin and Peroni.

For those that did secure tickets, their festival experience was a far cry from the norm. Fifty spacious Bell Tents were erected in the House grounds, each equipped with a comfy double bed, fluffy robes, minibar treats and a plethora of Cowshed essentials. Each tent had a doormat for muddy wellies, and was decorated with bunting and fairy lights. In the mornings, festivalgoers fuelled themselves with a ‘Bab’s Bap’, before hopping in a shuttle to take them directly to the festival site.

On Monday, Babington House’s annual Glastonbury Wind-Down was in full swing, with members enjoying the chance to recharge – or simply experience one more day of partying – before their journey home. The day’s soundtrack was provided by House DJ Ross Wilson, who jumped on the decks from 2pm, followed by DJ Joshua James. Mel C’s impressive set finished the day in style.

Of course, there was also the whole of Babington House to explore: the 1705 Grade II-listed manor, 18 acres of English countryside, a lake, a cricket pitch, and tennis courts. Plus, guests could enjoy the best of Soho House dining at the Orangery, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and the Cowshed spa.
