Little Berenjak arrives at Soho Farmhouse

Popular Persian spot, Berenjak, has been serving an authentic Iranian menu inspired by Tehran’s hole-in-the-wall kebab houses at its locations in London’s Soho and Borough since 2018. And now, the team is setting up in the Oxfordshire countryside, with the opening of Little Berenjak at Soho Farmhouse.

Part of a two-year residency at the House, Little Berenjak will focus on Persian dishes such as charcoal-grilled meats, traditional dips and clay oven-baked breads. Across the menu, members will find a selection of mezze dishes, including Black Chickpea Hummus, Mirza Ghasemi (coal-cooked aubergine with garlic, tomato and eggs), and Panir with radishes and fresh herbs.

You can also enjoy lamb and chicken kebabs, which the Berenjak team are perhaps best known for, as well as Khoresht – flavourful vegetable and meat stews. Then there’s the Sofreh – side dishes that range from Sibzamini (fried potatoes with yoghurt) to Torshi Haftebijar (pickled cauliflower, carrot and cabbage). The drinks list includes a Preserved Lemon Margarita, complete with mezcal and tequila, as well as Black Lime Sharbat – a refreshing mix of black lime, fresh lime and mint. 

‘It’s a dream come true to finally be able to showcase Persian cuisine in a venue like Soho Farmhouse,’ says Kian Samyani, founder of Berenjak. ‘The feedback has been incredible so far. We can’t wait to welcome members through our doors this summer and beyond.’

Little Berenjak is situated in the farmyard in the space previously occupied by The Little Bell, and is open for dinner from Monday to Thursday, and lunch and dinner from Friday to Sunday.
